    New fuel feed line

I mangled the connector to the fuel filter on my 2002 BMW X5 and now have to buy a new fuel line going up to the engine. The parts digram has the line in two parts with a connector in the middle, a tube not a mechanical connector. Am I expected to glue the two together? Has anyone ever done one? I wish I could just attach a new connector at the fuel filter, but I don't see anything like that available
