BMW Z3 Steptronic Paddle Shifter retrofit

Hello was wondering if anyone has installed paddleshifters on a bmw z3 with steptronic yet? , ive seen several forums with them being installed on some steptronic vehicles but that required a heated clockspring. any info would help. thanks!

Just to make sure here: Have you driven it the way you desire to drive it by just using the shifter? Just making sure you don't expect the paddles to change the behavior of the car.
