    Revising Oil Change Reminder

I'm retired, and especially with COVID, don't put a lot of miles on my 2014 X3. I would like to revise the reminder interval in the ECU from 15,000 miles to 7500 for oil changes.
Can this be done by other than the dealer, if it can be done at all?

If your not reaching the mileage in a year I would change the oil once a year, supposedly you can change the car system you would need auto logic or ista diagnostic computer

    Welcome to the Forum!

Doesn't the I-Drive tell you when the oil change is due not only in mileage but also a date as well?

Older cars used fuel consumption as a measure for when oil change would be indicated. I'd suspect newer ones are probably more sophisticated and it is not a fixed value.

The dealer will not do this usually, but the BMW coding/programming software from BMW Engineering, e-sys can do that. It's a custom change, so you'd need someone familiar with it to do it. Completely possible
