    M3 Convertible stock ride height

Can someone with a stock M3 take some measurements of their ride hide from the center of the wheel arch to the ground? Specifically the rear. My rear passenger side is 0.5" lower than the driver side and I'm not sure why. The only thing i can think of is the battery is on that side but I don't think it would cause it to lower that much. I know bentley's says 0.5" is about the max deviation between sides but still seems too much. I'm mainly concerned because I'm rubbing on that side with my wider aftermarket wheels.

    thanks!

The rear is supposed to be lower than the front. The spec calls for left and right to be within 10 mm (3/8 inch) of each other. The M3 spec is 21.25 inches for the rear and 22.05 for the front.

The measurement is taken from the lowest point on the rim to the highest point on the fender opening. DO NOT measure from the ground. The measurement is also for a 17" wheel.

Try measuring it with someone sitting in the drivers seat. Bet it comes out a lot closer. I remember when aligning them, BMW instructs you to put a specific amount of weight in the seat to simulate a driver being there.

If the passenger side is more than 10 mm (3/8 inch) than the driver side, you have something broken, probably a spring. If the springs are factory parts, then you easily can have one that is fatigued. Ride height is a function of the springs, not the shocks.
