Where can I find the part number for the two(2) terminating resistors on my 2004 BMW 760Li? The dealer was no help and I did not get any good results using google, Thanks!
What exactly are you trying to do and explain the meaning of terminating resistors
On most vehicles today the communication network for the modules is a J1939 CAN(controller area network) This circuit has a 5 volt signal on each leg of the circuit. A terminating resistor is used to stabilize the voltage between the two(2) circuits. Usually the terminating resistors are 120 ohms .25 watts and are place somewhere in the network circuits. On the BMW 760Li there are two(2) resistors in the J1939 CAN network, one is at the passenger side front near the bumper. The other is supposed to be under the rear seat. I am looking for a image that shows where the resistor is under the rear seat and a part number for a replacement terminating resistor.
The deler was not willing to provide this information and I have googled it with no good results. I am hoping someone can provide me this information?
So if you were to go to reloem .com and enter the last seven of the vin and look for the part section 61 probably, the part is not available thru bmw? If not I would look to an electronics supply company online
