Connected Drive keeps cutting out

I have a F30 BMW and maybe 6 weeks ago now, the screen and music just completely cuts off and then instantly starts back up by itself. Sometimes doesn't do if for an hour and other times it'll do it 3 times in 10 minutes.

I have contacted BMW and they said I can book it in for a software update but in their words "That might not fix the issue"

Does anyone know how I could fix the issue before potentially just wasting £162

The first thing I’d do is reset the system by pressing the volume button for 30 seconds. This forces the audio system, which is really a computer system, to reboot.
