The connector in the engine bay has got me puzzled, but the ones in the center console are all Auto trans connectors.

Pretty sure the round one goes to the front bumper wiring harness (fog lights, headlight washers, temp sensor, side marker lights etc). Do you have any of these options on your car, and if so do they work with that cable unplugged?

I got fog lights but they work fine and also the temp sensor works fine too. Weird.

There was no such connector. Those are all pry of the main body loom.

Hmm. All I can tell you is that my car has that connector hooked up and it terminates at the front bumper wiring. It's not headlights, but I thought it was side markers, fog lights, etc. When I pulled the bumper off it was the only wiring connecting the bumper to the rest of the car, hence why I figured it was for the front bumper items

Hmmm. I am open to the possibility that it is an early e34 thing. But would need confirmation.

Totally off the wall guess here but i think it might be for a motorized headlight aiming adjustment? Total guess on my part. Cheers, George
