I run a radar detector
I do not run a radar detector
I run a radar detector AND have a lidar jammer :O
In MI, on I96, me (in the ol e83) n this (expletive for low quality) jeep were having a little fun, wont mention the speeds involved, but it is kind of funny to see 2 (expletive for low quality) SUVs fly down the highway trying to see who was faster. Naturally a car deigned for the autobahn has more room on the top than a car designed for good performance on dirt roads, even though its just an x3 and those jeeps tend to have 3.4s, but it was good fun anyways. I pulled on him a few times, walked em pretty nice. Anyway I run a uniden r7, and it had some KA blips from what I'd guess is a mile down the road. (KA is the one thats almost guaranteed to be a cop instead of, say, an automatic door at the mall) Anyways I slow down and flash my hazards at the guy to try to communicate he should too, but he just lols and flys away. Anyways the KA gets stronger, and I find him behind a blue statie. It's kind of funny, but also kind of sad that my anonymous road buddy had to go out that way.
Anyone else here run RDs?
No, I think it is a useless device.
An old friend was a trouble shooter for the K40 radar detector brand way back when. Among his tools for diagnosis was a radar simulator meant to measure a units response and sensitivity. It was a small hand held device that he always kept in his car.
I suspect he had more fun scaring the wits out of high speed drivers than those doing the fast driving.
