I hope someone put it in Non-Op, otherwise those are going to be some HEFTY DMV fines. And I would imagine you want to go that route since it had CA legal paperwork before due to coming from Hardy & Beck. You try to go the 'new reg' route to forget the prior stuff and you'll have to deal with it not being a US-spec car. Not impossible to get around, but a PITA unless the 25year stuff has gone into play for private imports (stopped paying attention myself).

But yeah, grats on the find and g/l getting it yourself. Keep us updated in case it is too much for your wallet, in case someone else can grab it and keep it in The Legion.

From what I recall, after so MANY years of "zero" activity, it falls of the database and you start all over, from scratch. Something like that, I'll have to ask my source to be sure.

Wheels are not alpina, they are Msw I think, maybe OZ. That car has been sitting there forever. I tried for a year about 15 years ago to get the owner of the shop to sell this car but he would never let it go, sad to see it is still just sitting there. Hope you can get it away from him.

Grrr! There's one like him in Houston with a 1968 BMW 3000GT. Thinks it's worth like 50k and it's rusted to ribbons in the time he's had it. Still good for parts, but it's sure as hell not worth much now.

That is a nice find rates up there with finding a Hartege Turbo with dual boost valve setup(Hi n Low) for autobahn and city driving, FYI in Germany they passed a national law when these were available that low boost was allowed in city driving only, i seen peeps pulled over with hoods up changing the boost to Hi many years ago before they took there older cars on the autobahn(available in DE or to super deep pockets, lol).. Nice find, get it.
