Anti roll options for *sDrive* X3 2020

Hi folks. Newbie here and to BMW ownership. I have a 2020 X3 sDrive30i with standard suspension. There’s significant body roll around corners or when going over bumps, even at the low speeds. So I’m looking to fix it. Wondering what my options are. Leaning towards a sway bar, but the shop I approached said that there may be difficulties associated with finding a suitable sway bar since most all options on the market are for xDrive only, not sDrive. Same story with coilovers. Is this true? What are my options?

(Body roll aside, I love this car!)

Thank you all for weighing in!

I'm pretty sure that the X-drive stuff (sway bar) will bolt in the S-drive. The car bodies are the same between x & s drive. Pretty sure all the front suspension links are the same as well. Wheel bearings are different but can still interchange.

Thanks for the feedback! Hmm. So what you’re saying is that one could use the front *and* rear sway bars from an X3 M for example and things would work? It wouldn’t mess with handling in any negative way? I wonder why the mechanic told me otherwise.

thanks again. I’ll bring this up to him.

The F97 (X3 M) stuff can be different, bodies are still the same as G01 though. I don't remember specifically on the sway bars, but I can check later this week and let you know. There are also like 5 or 7 variants of sway bar combos iirc.

Are you saying your car did not come with a sway bar from the factory? Pretty sure they all do. If not, let me get the last 7 of your VIN.

Thank you! I’d be surprised if the car didn’t come with a sway bar. I think the mechanic’s argument was that if we were to upgrade the sway bars to be stiffer (?), there are no after market options available because all available ones are only compatible with xDrive, not sDrive. Do you happen to know of a suitable after market option?

Looking at the parts catalog for a G01 X3 30i which I'm pretty sure is the sDrive30i, we list the following swaybar parts

    Code:
    Front axle
    31356870651 S39.0 Standard
31356870653 S43.6 with Adaptive or with Msport

    Rear axle
    33556870657 S10.0
33556870659 S14.8 with Adaptive or with Msport
The S numbers above are the bar diameters. All of these bars are also used on the G01 X3 30iX, but not on the F97 X3M. There may be an interchange with the X3M but that would require more research. It looks like you have at the very least the Msport options.

That’s fantastic, thank you for the information Richard. I’ll run this by the mechanic and see what he says. Would you happen to know if the Msport options are available in the after market currently?
