When budget permits, I will most likely go with KW V2s

I think it's only the 540i that KW will cover with a V2 kit! so lucky you ! I'd have gone with V2's if they'd had made them for my 3 litre Diesel ! I'm very happy with the K1's though !

    Cheers, Dennis!

I have BC coilovers on my 99' 540 and it rides like crap. The fronts feel amazing and the rear is like the car is riding on a trampoline. I know they a stink but do any of you have a recomondation so I can stop the bouncing. Thanks

Who installed them? What springs did the rears have? Were they pre loaded properly?

I called BC Racing and the place I had install them frogot to put the rear strut top washer in and it broke the bushing. The pre-load wasn't set up properly also.

So its acually not that the coilovers handle like shit. It's because the shop installed them like they have haver done coils before.

It appears only kw v1 and st are the only options for sls equipped tourings? Any options for sls delete and full coilovers front to back?

Just installed BC Coilovers on my 2002 525 I touring. It is a factory sport package with SLS. I had installed eibach sway bars front and rear with steel E38 brackets in the rear ( stock aluminum bracket bent and broke within a week ). Front eibach lowering springs and rear adjustable lowering links with koni yellows front and rear. Was very nice ride, but still not quite what I was after. Bought and installed the BC’s and it is incredible! Great control and comfortable ride. I installed at settings from out of the box and was at the stock sport ride height and damping. Drove them for a week and then lowered the rear to max and the fronts 12 mm set the front dampers to 15 clicks from soft and rears 18 clicks from soft. So much better than my previous set up. Rides like a well designed sport suspension should and stays flat on all curves without any harshness at all. Huge range of adjustment from marshmallow soft to full on bone jarring. The build quality is exceptional and the ride and handling are exceptional. I hope this helps others in deciding on coilovers. I still have to have it coded for the SLS air spring delete as it alerts on display after a minute or so. Also had to order the lower spring pads for the rear spring conversion. BMW part number 33531093785.

Hey man, what spring rates did you go with? Are you running the generic BC Racing springs? I have an almost brand new set of BCRacing coilovers too, but they have the generic springs. Thinking of going with Swift springs instead.

I used the stock recommendation of 8k front and rear. I had called BC Racing and spoke to their rep with my fears about so many people bad talking their product and my long endeavor to find my thought of a good balance of ride comfort and handling. He did not try to sell his product but was very informative. After trying to gather information and sifting thru BS I took the plunge with the BC’s. Today my wife took a ride in my car, she has a 2014 F32 sport package with H and R super sport springs and koni yellows, she asked me why did we go with this set up, we ordered a set of BC’s for her car this evening.

I am not sure if the Swift spring would make a $300 + difference. I have read great reviews about them. If you decide to upgrade to them would you please let me know your thoughts of them . I truly am impressed with the stock BC springs. Time will tell of their durability. My understanding is that the Swift spring option is a better ride and matches very well with the dampers. I have 202K miles on my touring. Just rebuilt the entire suspension, now doing the brakes,. This car has a lot of miles but is tight as a drum. Hope that my thoughts so far are helping others in choosing a suspension system. I had been searching and trying to make a choice since 2017.

Hey thanks! Yeah, so My kit has the same 8K springs, I was gonna swap out the springs because a few of my friends had gone with 10k and up in the past. I just didn’t want to bother installing them in as is, and then realizing that they were too soft. money has gotten tight once again, if your setup feels pretty good, maybe I should just try them the way they are. If I do get the Swifts in the future, I will let you guys know how it goes too.
