I got a 2016 BMW X1 and a check engine light came on, checked code and got p00BD. MAF sensor to high air something like that. cleared it and drove around some more and it came back on. took out the sensor and cleaned it with MAF sensor cleaner. cleared code and drove again and code came back. bought a new sensor through Carquest that said it was an exact fit. Looks exactly like the one I took out. drove around with a new sensor and got a whole new code p0172, too rich bank 1. so now I'm burning more fuel. I'm not sure what to do at this point. trying to avoid dealer cost of diagnostics (i know the general area of issue, don't need them to charge fee to tell me what i already know) and avoid cost of dealer parts as markups are high. any suggestions? Insights?
Go to a good bmw independent shop
Did you ever figure it out bro??
