updating 95 e34 head unit - OEM options

Hello,

1995 e34 and wanting to update the HU so that BT can be added for streaming (Spotify). I'm thinking that before looking at aftermarket units I'd look to see what OEM units might work.

As I understand it a CD43 unit could be used by adding a BT adapter to the CD port, is this a correct assumption? or is there another option?

Is there a web page somewhere that shows what year and series that this (these) unit were installed in? ( to help with my search).

The current unit is a KE-91ZBM and the car appears to be pre-wired for telephone with a second harness plug on the back of the HU. Could a BT adapter be added using this port (assuming that such a device exists).

Hi,

I suggest also asking this in the E34 section as more chance of owners who've done something with the OEM units and modified or added onto will see and respond.

I do recall seeing some 'modified' BMW head units, look on youtube as well as various forum searches.

I miss my E34, woudn't mind another once there's enough garage space ! however, OEM audio never will be good enough for me! so mine had a full aftermarket setup that sounded utterly fantastic for the design/setup and the level I wanted to spend at the time!
