    Front spoiler removal

Is it OK to completely remove front spoiler under the bumper? It's '87 L6. I just dont like aesthetics of it, too big, too heavy looking.
I'm asking because I would probably uncover something that is after it, can get more dust/water... am I thinking right?

Not my pic but here's the one

The car will look unfinished without an air dam. You would also lose the fog lights and leave the cooling package exposed to rocks and debris damage.

You could convert the front to an early style E24 which is more traditional and less bulky....see image.

Where are you in Europe to have a car with US bumpers on it?? In most of Europe to my knowledge the e24 either got a thin chrome bumper like posted above, or in later years a more “together looking” monochromatic version of what you’ve got.

and if you want to remove it, stick your head under it so you can visualize what’s underneath.. my thoughts are you’ll think it even more ugly without the front spoiler.

    Yep, it's 635CSI/L6 U.S. model.

It's all matter of taste, if I could get something like this, that would be cool.
Looks like the same bumper as mine, but air dam is much smaller.

Your airdam is very clean. People would kill to find one in good condition and want to buy it.

So, on that black car is what looks to be a pretty early valence. Maybe 77-80? And could be the same as an early euro front valence which in your part of the world will be easier than in the us.

I hear you on the taste, if that’s what you want you’ll need to purchase that lower valence (as nothing is behind the air dam you have) and sell the silver air dam to pay for it.

    The part you’re looking for:

I'm not 100% sure about this, but that early style lower fascia panel uses different brackets as well. They're not that difficult to fabricate, but with a car as nice looking as yours, you'd likely want the complete kit.

I agree that the early 'sloped chin' design looks better, Paul Bracq's design was oh-so-very clean. I'd guess it did very little to prevent high-speed lift. The later style is somewhat more practical, inspired by motorsport. Visually heavier, but far more utilitarian.

That black one with "early valence" is MY86 635CSI that is on ebay right now... So CS2 I suppose? Like mine?
Many thanks for the link - do you think that's the same like this on the black '86 I posted pic above? (just photographed upside down?)

The link above to fcpeuro says that its compatible with everything form MY77 to MY89 so it's universal one?

You need to look into realoem.com. You can put in yours or older vehicle info and find out what fits. Now, “fits” is an objective word. Just because someone tells you (this) doesn’t fit your car, it doesn’t mean that it will never. It may simply require some more detailed thought and design on your part.

In the case of this valence, find the brackets that it attached with and figure out how to get them on your car because chances are if you’ve got the right hardware it won’t be all that bad.

this is the diagram I found on real oem that showed me that part number.
