    E70 e-brake problem

    Hello to everybody,
I have recently purchased a 2007 E70 3.0si and i am experiencing a problem with the e-brake... sometimes it angages by it self and i have to release it by the ebrake switch or by pressing the brake pedal. The strange thing in my story is that my car does not have the Auto hold option... Any ideas what might be the problem???

The first step in diagnosing a problem is to scan the appropriate electronic module for codes. An obd2 scanner won’t do the trick. You’ll have to find a reputable shop that has the proprietary BMW software.

    Update...
Still waiting for the scanner tool... in the mean time i had a parking brake actuator failure but i realised that the problem i describe at the begining has nothing to do with the actuator... the problem affects only the front brakes... sometimes, when i brake, the front brakes stick but if i release the brake pedal and press it again they get loose...
    Any ideas?

Maybe it's the ABS's fault or maybe it's time to change your brake pads.

Update... Still havent received the diagnostic tool, it stuck for more than 40 days at Frankfurt... Anyway today i was driving my car and when i stopped to park the brakes stuck and then i pressed the parking button and the brakes released immidiedly and the car rolled a few centimeters before it was stopped by the gearbox... So pressing the parking button released the stuck brakes... And this again make me think that there is something wrong with the abs...
