I bought an E31 which is not running for this moment.
The goal is to get the engine running and the car driving before the end of the year
What I already checked:
-There is fuel at the engine
-The plugs have spark at the right side (driverside) of the engine
-There is no spark at the other side.
I switched the distribution cap, rotor arm, spark plug wires and coil form the side where I had spark to the other side and I still didn't got any spark.
I measure at both sides 12v at the income of the coil.
Are there any sensors, computers, modules... in the car that could affect the proces of getting spark?
Which OBD reader is suitable for the E31?
Thanks for suggestions
Hi, i got exactly the same issue, in my case, the MOSFET which drive the coil was burned into the corresponding DME. Have a look at https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/top...ink_source=app

....But start at the CRANKshaft sensor, that's the more 'common' fault
