Ok long story short for past few weeks to a month randomly every so often, definitely not every drive but enough it's noticeable. Right after coming to a stop like a stop sign or light the red oil pressure warning light will pop up, 9 times out of 10 it stays displayed for less than 5 secs before going away on its own, sometimes right back then gone again sometime not for a few trips\days. The light never comes on while moving nor stays on long, I heard if light is showing you can unplug sensor an be able somehow to know if it's sensor that's bad or not?bid this is true what would it mean if I had no light showing at the time, I unplugged sensor & let car idle for a few mins an no light popped up, is this telling me sensor maybe malfunctioning or am I misunderstanding this?
First of all one would check the oil level then you could try a new sensor and if it still came one install a gauge to see what the actual reading is
I checked oil and it's fine, even checked it multiple days and level was the same each day. I'm leaning towards maybe bad sensor since I had coolant leak from pipe connected to thermostat that was pretty bad and if I remember correctly not to long after that is when light started randomly coming on. I was also wondering if poss belt slippage could cause low pressure for that short time?
