Angry Hardtop advice for my 88 vert

I had my hardtop headliner replaced and am pissed off at the idiot I dealt with. This thing lifts off and goes on like butter until this jerk got ahold of it. Apparently they took or tried to take off the pins that attached to it off and I have no idea why. They fucked with the seals and the windows in the rear had to be 'helped' to get to go up. There's no reason this thing shouldn't have popped right back in. One side was just off, again it should just pop in then tightened and the other side was just flopping and very loose . He even mentioned the 'special' tool for the job that bmw has , not that he has one but obviously he looked it up. It's on after a struggle to line up the pins and get the thing to clamp down. It really is very easy to do....it was before he got ahold of it. I could see the seals maybe being off a little but.... I need some words of encouragement and/or advise for when I go back to adjusting this.... I guess I'll need that 'special' tool from bmw for the trick?

I am furious in Massachusetts . Gene from Atlas Auto Top - YOU SUCK!!

There should not have been any need to remove the pins...to just replace headliner. I am thinking on having mine redone and had a local shop look at it. They said it would be an easy job as the top could be worked on upside down. As for the "special" tool??????????? at 12mm box end wrench. I do find with mine that I have to tighten down several times before I can get a good seal. Only negative is that I get a lot of squeaking as opposed to having the soft top up. Anybody else have that problem.

You can get a tool here for $22, it’s nice to have on hand.

Be careful tightening down the pin, make sure everything is adjusted correctly, the plastic in the socket is very brittle.

    Pissed off

Yup, the thing should've just popped right back in, no need to touch the pins. The delicate plastic you speak of I believe was damaged when reapplying the top, because it was supposed to just pop back in having never been loosened or turned in the first place, but it was..... One pin I know is loose. It is clamped to the car but loose on the top. I am furious...
