    Chime no longer working

I have a 2017 M140i Automatic and I took it to an audio shop to have a unit installed so I can use CarPlay as well as iDrive.
That worked fine, but after the installation there was no chime at all. They tried disconnecting the battery and leaving it for 30 minutes and reconnecting and now I get a chime when I pull the gear lever down when stationary, but no chime on opening or closing the door. I really would like to get that back - it was working before the CarPlay install.
Any ideas what they may have done to lose it and how I might get it back?

This is why I advise against aftermarket equipment installations in BMW's. It's like opening up Pandora's box of crap that could go wrong, or not work afterwards. BMW electronics don't play nice with aftermarket equipment. Wish I could be of more help. I would take it off and go back to stock. Or get used to not having the chime.
