I rebuild these using Beisan System parts, the best you can buy.
I’ve been doing these for the last 6+ years. PM me with question and I’ll get back to you.

Just finished replacing the o-rings in 4 sets of M62tu vanos using Beisan System parts. One set shipped, another set it packed up and ready to go.
I also cut one open to show what the guts look like and why you don't always get a "tone" on your meter when you fully retard the inner section when timing the engine.

Another vanos update that I don't think any of the other suppliers ever checks.
In addition to bad seals that let oil leak by when the DME tells the vanos to retard (which makes it sound like a diesel) is the code that doesn't come up too often.
I recently got a set to rebuild, one vanos unit was very hard to turn. This could bring up the code for jammed vanos.
With new seals the center section takes more force to rotate it. How much it too little or too much? There isn't a published spec on the min/max torque.
To add one more test after replacing the seals I purchased a digital torque wrench. It's range is 1.4 to 44 ft-lbs. Now I can verify all is fine.

Well, if I ever go back to V8 and M62TU, I know where to buy a good quality product!

I've done it the hard way, rebuilding the units myself. Never again. I'd definitely get these if I had to do it again.
Did you have to buy additional teflon o-rings?
If anything goes wrong those are the ones that usually get damaged. Spares are available from Beisan Systems for $20 each.
