1996 bmw 740il crank no start

Hello, I have a 1996 bmw 740il with the 4.4 single vanos unit engine, the car is getting fuel pressure but will not start it tries to start and gets really close to starting but doesn’t I’m so lost checked all the fuses there good any ideas?

It could be a number of things. What led up to it not starting? Has it been siting for awhile or driven daily? Something as simple as a weak battery can cause a crank/no start condition. Do you have any lights on? Check for codes?

Doesnt sound like it. have you verified the fuel pressure by using a gauge? Sounds like clogged filter or pump screen. Just taking the cap off the fuel rail and seeing some gas comes out isnt enough.

Threads merged. If the car has been sitting for 'a few years', I would question the fuel itself. Old, stale gas does not ignite well. My suggestion is to make sure you have a fully charged battery and get fresh fuel in the car.
