    SRS light rant

    The little things can get under your skin. 10/94 build M3. Car has been down for six months replacing the cracked head and adding turbo FI. Battery was disconnected the entire time. Had to remove the passenger air bag to access the DME compartment to run the tuning cable. All reassembled. Car is now on the road and runs well. F#*^#% air bag light is on. Love it when you follow all the procedures and BWM still give you the finger.

    Yup. The cheap code reader doesn't work. Just gives an error message.

    Peake Research has closed their door.
    Look for a used one.
    My opinion is that Peake tool(s) in general were pretty good. I have three E36s I maintain.

    I was thinking it's due to my car being early for the reason it doesn't work. Tks, if I can't find one, I will certainly appreciate a loaner.

    The Peake R5 SRS tool only works from 1994, user manual says: ......operation with BMWs built from 1994 to 2000.
    Same with the cheap Chinese B800 SRS fault code tool: Models available for most BMWs built between 1994 and 2003. It works on my 02.98 M3 very well, reads codes and resets the light after repair, usual selling price $20-30.
