    No e30s, again :(

Hmm, I guess I had forgotten this spring info

I changed the rear springs on the four door 88 super E today and they are markedly taller then the springs that were on the back of the 87 325 two door. For some odd reason, I remembered the springs being the same height between the models.

and the taller springs have a lot more miles then the shorter springs.

The cars only weigh like 50lbs more with 4 doors. I wonder if they did that anticipating rear passengers or something.
Interested in vintage cars? Ever thought about racing one?

That's what I thought but it's been so long that I couldn't remember everything. And this car didn't sit particularly high.

    Here is it now

That's my first assumption if its a taller spring. 325e, 325i and IX all had different part numbers for the rear spring according to RealOEM.

I suppose it's possible. I knew they had different part numbers but I had never seen different height. The only spring I have never seen in person is an ix so I believe you could be right on this

Before, original suspension 227,000 miles and completely blown struts and shocks.

Refurbished front strut mounts and almost new springs all around.

Even with a blown suspension, the before photo sits higher than a standard E30 or it looks to be that way. F*ck I miss my e30
