Ashtray Wood grain, is it possible to transplant to another ashtray body?

Does anyone know if the woodgrain of the rear ashtrays is removable/replaceable? I just bought 4 door panels from a 2001
Chrome Line 750iL and the ashtrays work perfect but the numbskull I bought them from apparently tried prying the wood
grain off these for some reason. I would like to take my perfect wood grain from my broken ashtrays and put on the perfect
ashtray bodies from the new door panels, a Transfer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Possible, but not fun. I have one where the wood delaminated, but removing a good one without damaging the veneer is hard.

On the center console ashtray, the wood trim comes off after removing a couple small screws, and thus may be easily replaced. I haven't examined the door ashtrays so I'm not sure if they share this feature. Are there small screws on the underside, or any retainers that would allow it to come off?

Maybe drill off the rivets just barely enough to get the trim piece off, and then use some JB Weld or similar to re-bond the rivet areas to the body of the ashtray?
