My 91 850 has headlight difficulties in that the driver side headlight goes up and down several times when the lights are turned on, the right side does not move at all. The headlights worked fine until this year. The mechanic says there is no power getting to the passenger side motor. He has swapped the headlight relays left to right and the lights still operate same way. He has taken the large relay apart and examined it for breaks in the solder joints and did not find any. We are at a loss and would appreciate any tips and or suggestions.
Thanks,
Dave
He's probably looking at the wrong relay as there is only one - and it can't be swapped with any other relay being unique! It is relay K39 as can be found here:

The headlight motor relay (K39) is actually a dual relay, whereas the others are single. The relay in question has the number “413” stamped on the cover. The solder joints need to be reflowed. There are several write-ups on how to go about doing that. As stated, you can’t “swap” this relay with any others in the fuse box, as it is very unique.

Thank you for the information, I will print it out and pass on to the mechanic. Hopefully it will give us some success.

I checked on the availability of the K39 relay and it seems it is NLA. Does someone take cores and refurbish them, or if anyone has an extra I will be happy to purchase it.
TIA
