I am sure this has been answered, I tried to search but couldn't find the right words for the question.
Do the other variants of the Z4 Coupe have the exact same body/chassis as the Z4M Coupe? For example, the Z3M had a wider rear than the standard Z3.
Wondering if it's a better idea to buy a normal Z4 Coupe for much less, since I plan to hack it up into a track car and wouldn't want to kill the value of a Z4MC.
Does that even make sense if I am planning on swapping in an S54 anyways? Decent M Coupes are running ~$30k+ with 60-80k miles. I could probably get a non-M coupe for half of that.
1999 2.8L Z3 Roadster,
2000 3.0L Z3 Roadster,
There is only one thing more pleasurable than working on a Z3, that's driving it top down on a fine day.
There are so many upgrades from a standard Z4 to a Z4M - in my opinion it makes no sense if you plan to put an S54 in anyway. You may as well just buy an M version and have the upgraded parts. The list is very extensive. If you are planning to "hack it up" just buy a well used car. They are a lot less than 30k.
