So I removed the throttle bodies yesterday with plans to refurb the DK motors today. I go to start disassembly on the units and the "screws" I come across are some kind of one way security screw. Not sure if anyone has seen these before or know what kind of bit I need to remove them. Can't find much info for this particular type of head anywhere on the internet.
I would guess these are obviously not the original screws for it. The throttle bodies were definitely removed before as when I removed them there was no gasket in place and some type of sealant instead.
Anyway if anyone has any ideas let me know.
At this point i feel like just using a dremel to cut a slot into each one and try to get them out that way

EDIT - the writeup I have is for the E38 so maybe that's why I am not seeing the same screw?
looks like this one i found on ebay has the same screws as mine, which is from an E31

Use vice grips (as many others have had to in the past) and yes I believe they are the original security screws from Factory.
You could replace with another type of screw, once being put back together.

I swear, my cars are like a girlfriend.
Sometimes its a rough ride, sometimes its smooth motorin'.
Sometimes she doesnt like how i treat her and sometimes i dont like how she behaves.
BUT at the end of the day, she loves it when I am inside her.
Thanks, I was trying that but they are in there pretty tight and the grips are marring it before it even budges it at all
Vice Grips are the tool of Choice here. Mine were on pretty Good. Allen head either button or Socket are a good choice for replacement. You could go all German and do TORX
Or you might be able grab the edge of the bolt with a sharp chisel
This procedure I saved from a defunct site a while ago mentions Phillips or security screws:

Timm I did see that. Thanks. I eventually got them with vice grips. Refurb is all done and the units are back together. I didn't feeling like running down to the hardware store to sort through bolts today so I used a spanner bit to get the security screw back in. If I have to do this again in the future then I will change them out to phillips or torx heads.
Thanks you all for your input.

You can certainly tighten them that way... I used a spanner bit to get them back in. But they only have something to grab onto in one direction(tight). I eventually got them out using vice grips
Cut the grooves into the screw , then replace them after.
Do not touch the encoder wipers!!
No, the batteries are wired in parallel - disconnecting one would make no difference! Disconnect both battery negatives and leave the positives alone.
