04 745LI no start after no oil message, cam shaft codw

Hi, new to the forum but need help. Bought a non working 745li from a dude that said he was driving as usual, got a no/low oil message, then immediately stopped and for it towed. Then some time later I bought it.
Tried starting it, I keep getting a cam shaft code, but when I change it out for a working can shaft sensor, same code shows up, still ko start, cranks but no start. Any idea? I've been looking around but no definite answers/results.

Sounds like internal engine damage. If you've got cam sensor codes, it's likely out of time. Probably need a new engine. Remove the oil filter, and check for metal shavings in the pleats. Take off the valve covers and have a look-see. You may have to buy/borrow/rent the timing tools to even check the timing. But don't waste your money if there's metal shavings in the oil filter. If that's the case, you've got nothing but a boat anchor.
