Differential Oil Change

I am preparing to change the gearbox (auto) and diff oils on my 2005 E85 Z4 but seem to remember reading that the job is not as easy at it first seems. Items have to be removed to gain access to the oil drain and fill point. I can't find those notes now and wonder if any contributor can give me some guidance
