I am getting conflicting info. Does it depend on when your vehicle was built as to whether it chimes (or 'gongs') to indicate seatbelt isn't fastened or you left the lights on.
Currently my vehicle makes no sounds for either. I often leave the lights on by accident; at least BMW has the sense to turn the headlights off and just leave the marker lights on if the key isn't in the car.
Finally, there is a little seatbelt icon with a red bar behind it on the check panel above the rearview mirror. Is that just an icon? Is it supposed to light up or blink or anything? All of my 'check lights' work except that one so I'm guessing its just an icon that doesn't do anything.
I don't remember any of mine making noise for anything except the speed setting on the 13 button and I cannot remember if it did when you leave the lights on. the speaker is the little black box above your left knee when driving, is it hooked up?
No e30s again.
"the speaker is the little black box above your left knee when driving, is it hooked up?"
i just took the anthracite off to prep for the odometer fix and the little plastic cover fell off that was right where my knee would be. didn't realize that was a speaker so i'll take a look
Ok
No e30s again.
Mine would ding with the door open, if the temp approached freezing, if the lights were left on, and I can't remember the seatbelt being unclipped but it would make sense.
Either way the very first thing I did to my E30 was remove the godforsaken thing.
