Quiet 3 inch turbo back exhaust.

Before building mine, I researched how others built their exhaust systems on here. I think it paid off. Mine is 3 inch all the way back, no cats, with a Magnaflow MPE-11249 4x9x18 straight through muffler where the cats were and a Summit Racing 633001 4x9x14 straight through offset muffler at the rear. I put a 3 to dual 3 inch tip for a factory appearance. It is quiet. Maybe just a tad louder than factory M3, but it's been six months since my car was running so it's hard for me to compare. Anyway, very happy with it. And the tone is deep.

Idle clip. I'll post a clip revving soon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-61s_DA3Gw

Edit: Rev clip. Not much louder than idle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuRMFlXc_Z8

Nice rumble! thanks for the specs on the mufflers!
I need an extra muffler, i'm getting to old for the (SCREAMING EXHAUST NOISES) doing 100km/h on the highway.

Thanks! On the road, inside the car, it's nice. I can hear my stereo. It snowed 6 inches over the past two days, so a delay getting the rev clip. I'll try today as the sun is out and will melt some of this crap. Bummer that I spent all summer working on this thing.

Sounds very stock like. is the rear silence really a straight thru design? i found the chamber desings to be way more quiet, but of course restrictive.

    and of course great fabrication!

Not apples to apples, but I tried a bunch of mufflers to quiet my SC'ed 540. The largest straight through Magnaflow that I could fit is what worked best for me. Its like 24" long or something like that. It seems that size is what mattered the most for my car to lower the noise. Maybe an equally large chambered would work too, but I did not want the restriction.

Good point. years ago i built a NA 735 E32 with just a single huge straight thru 3" muffler and it was really quiet. added a exhaust cut out valve too run it open headers whenever i want.

Thanks! Yes, it is essentially an oval glasspack. Just offset. The perforated tube is just at a slight diagonal through the canister.
