Convertible with electrical window interrupt switch. What are other people doing?

I just don't get the point of this switch. Its pretty brittle so the last thing I want is someone pushing it and it breaks with the windows deactivated where I can't roll them up or down.

Do I just leave it and disconnect the wiring so it wont matter if my 5yo pushes it and it gets stuck?

Should I swap it for something else? The left/right speaker dial is already useless.

What have others done with this switch on their convertibles? Just put a blank in?

you can connect the wires and then just put a blank in. I always have more trouble with the flasher switch then the window one but they are all pretty old now

i just bought a new one... wasnt that expensive.

I replaced both the speaker rotary switch and window switch , found on ebay for $35.00. Be careful pulling out as wires tend to get a little brittle.
