I don't mind a slight drop from stock, I was just worried about compliance over bumps and the effect of mismatched spring/shock combination causing premature shock failure and putting more stress on the chassis. I have reinforced shock rear mounts, front shock towers reinforcement plates, and a front strut bar being installed too.

I'm not sure that you're getting what you want with KW V1, but good luck.

I think you would be happy with Dinan springs and Koni ‘Cut-n-Gut’ (‘Cut-a-Strut’) struts and rear shocks. The OE casings are re-used.

I suspect the OEM Sachs strut casings can be used for a Koni ‘Cut-n-Gut’.

Well I thought I'd update this thread. Thank you to all of the people who messaged me on and off the forum with feedback. I just got my car back with KW V1s (and X-brace and Mason Engineering front strut bar) installed. After about an hour of driving on some of metro Detroit's finest washboard-textured roads (if you've been here, you know), I am pleased with the setup. The ride is definitely stiff but not unpleasantly-harsh. The chassis has close to 200k miles but the KW's seem to do a decent job over the potholes and the whole car just feels more taut. Idk how to describe it and definitely no suspension guru, but I guess the rebound just feels responsive? Idk. But I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend the V1s again for that price point.

Glad you got it worked out.

I've had the OE Sport springs and Koni's on my 95 almost 20 years... (purely street car) and never wished for more camber...lol Granted it's only got 78,000 miles in the almost 26 yeas I've owned it. But it still works well.

Gratuitous pic of new garage mate. And a pic of my M3 with the OE Sport springs.

I like your garage mate. It took them long enough to put the engine in the correct place. By the time I can afford one, I'll be just like all the other geezers in sports cars.

    Nice car, Cypher.

Thanks Sperry, that color combo on the C8 looks great.

And thanks, h82crash, I’m a big fan of the Avus, it was my first choice before the red.
