A previous owner apparently overfilled the Master Cyl and let brake fluid run down onto the front frame rails which caused the paint to peel off and caused rust to accumulate. I've cleaned the rails to bare metal and applied Self Etching Primer. The rest of the frame rail appears to be a light Gray color, does anyone know what paint will somewhat match the original color?
what color is your car? there were a few greys to chose from but the whole body got painted the same color when it was painted. the paint color sticker is on your fender. its a fairly good sized black sticker with the name of the paint color written in font that is easily readable

Te car was born as and still is Sterling Silver, however most exposed paint under the car seems to be a non metallic medium/light shade of gray, thus I thought that like late model Porsches, the underside might have been left in epoxy primer.
I have never had a silver car but I don't think it would be different than the other colors.
the last couple times I have been to the bmw plant, they pick the bodies up and dip them in the primer and than machines paint them on a rotisserie and top and bottom get painted. I think they do it the same in germany, as here.
but, you can do that part of your car anyway you wish. if you want to do some kind of undercoating to help fight corrosion or anything else, do it. you have to protect your car, especially being up north
