I'm told an easy upgrade to do on a my e36 is to put an e46 rack on the car. My rack is going bad so I figured I'd ask u guys if it is really as "plug and play" as the kids make it seem to be. Im not looking to add camber or drift or anything like that. Just heard it was an easy upgrade and since my local upull it ALWAYS has e46's and 1 e36 in since I owned my car,a "win" would be nice rn

I'm not so sure the e46 rack is an upgrade maybe it is. The biggest upgrade is the rack out of a 4 cylinder Z3. It is a 2.7 turn lock to lock rack with a linear ratio, which is much quicker on center than the slow e36 3 series racks. I put one in my M3, combined with the X-brace, it transformed how the front end felt.
