E46 steering rack

I'm told an easy upgrade to do on a my e36 is to put an e46 rack on the car. My rack is going bad so I figured I'd ask u guys if it is really as "plug and play" as the kids make it seem to be. Im not looking to add camber or drift or anything like that. Just heard it was an easy upgrade and since my local upull it ALWAYS has e46's and 1 e36 in since I owned my car,a "win" would be nice rn

Dont know about E46, but I think the rack you want is from a Z3 non M, the 2.8. Supposedly they have the fastest rack out of them all. Should be plug and play.
