My 1991 850 has been giving me fits; one day the door windows and locks work, next day they won't. Finally got to the mostly "won't" condition so I found a blog about the control module being the culprit, specifically the capacitors. So I had them replaced with no avail. Next I decided to replace the module with a used unit, still to no avail. Now my car is basically undriveable with no way to get into the trunk to replace my now no good batteries. Does anyone have another option for me to try?

Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
Open your trunk with the key. Left of the handle pointed straight up, insert key and turn and it should work with handle
Look at your fusible links on the right hand side of the trunk. Known problem point. I replaced mine with 80 AMP Stereo fuzes. Mine did the same when I accidently disconnected one of my fuzes there. Car started and ran but no interior etc.
850Dave- One of the cool 850i features.......If your glove box is locked, your trunk is also locked. Or as suggested, use your key in the trunk lock.

Press down on the trunk when you try to use the key to unlock it. Spent days figuring that one out.
