Hey guys. So a while back I picked up this 01 glacier green. Finally took care of all the mechanicals. Decided to give and interior color dye a shot. This car was sand beige with brown door panel tops and brown dash top. Some parts were so sun bleached, they looked pink. Ill take some better pics, but now its completely black. Going for the mint choc chip ice cream look on this car
This is pretty much what I've done so far.

Very cool, what brand die did you use?
Very nice! Great work.
Thanks, it was a combo of leatherique, some spray dye and some rit dye. I dunno how sturdy it is just yet, but only I drive or get in the car so just have to be easy on the sills and stuff like that. Nomatter what, its light-years better than before.

Thanks, I almost gave up on restoring this car because the interior was so bad lol.
Damn that looks good!! I love that colour combo. It's interesting how back then BMW seemed to really push certain colour combinations on people - here in Australia, Glacier Green was almost ALWAYS sold with green leather interior. Oxford Green always came with Sandbeige, Silver E38's almost always had grey interiors etc etc... Cars with different combinations to these are more the exception than the norm.
I'm all for swapping it up, it's a big job doing all that dye work but man it looks great now
Thank you! So does your car. Haha yep. I've worked on bmws for a while now and its few and far between that I see an E38 with black interior. I think maybe the 90s E38s got more black. USA models have very predictable interior. The sanbeige can be nice, but wasn't working on this car for me. Its shadowline so kinda works. Once I got into it, it was a MUCH bigger job than I anticipated. All the individual plastic pieces for the seats, etc. Felt never ending lol. It still isn't over
