Hello everyone
My e34 have an m20b25 (auto) engine with 700k+ km. The engine started burning oil and i am confused if i should rebuild it or swap for the m50b25. The mechanical who would rebuild it told me that he guaranteed the rebuild for 5 years and it will cost about 600$. My car is completely stock and original and i want to keep it original what do you think?
You've already said you want to keep it original. Swapping the later engine will require many other changes, accessory brackets, wiring harness and engine computer to start.
700k km is extraordinary, congratulations. I don't know what $600 buys in Lebanon but it will get you laughed out of a repair shop here if wanting an engine overhaul. You would be lucky to get the engine removed from the car at that price.
Id ask your mechanic to be very specific about what he is going to do for $600.
Good luck

If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark Donohue
What brands of replacement part is your mechanic quoting pricing for the rebuild? Pistons, rings, bearings, valves, valve guides, valve springs, valve keepers, gaskets, etc., etc.?

Wow, 700k KM is 435k miles. That is insane. $600 is also a crazy cheap price, but it is Lebanon of course and the labor is a minor fraction of what it costs in the U.S. I'd be more concerned with what parts he is going to be using, however.

+1 to all the comments: very high kilometers (that means the car was cared for), $600 is a screaming deal, and I'd be suspicious of what parts are used at that price.
....can you site the price of BMW piston 11251432088?

I'll be in touch with the details of the parts when the engine start smoking because the mechanical told me when the engine start smoking we do the rebuild. And yes the labor in Lebanon is nothing comapred to the US
