Help with new 2021 M550

i have had my car for a few weeks now and trying to change a couple things. I currently feel dumb because I cannot find the right setting or option in the menus. Seeing if anyone can help


1. I want the side mirrors to stay where they are when I put it into reverse, right now they rotate down toward the ground.

2. I want to turn gesture control off on the touchscreen. it is so sensitive and picks up a ton of unintended hand movements


I know I am missing something else but those are the 2 that I can think of off the top of my head

In regards to question #1...if your 2021 M550 is like every BMW built since they implemented this feature...it is deactivated when the mirror control switch is moved to or left in the passenger’s side position. Every BMW owners manual that I’ve ever had (since my 1985 e30 325e)...to deactivate mirror tilt, you move the mirror’s switch to the passenger side and leave it there to turn off the tilt feature. Check your owners manual if moving the switch doesn’t deactivate this feature:

That’s correct. Move the mirror selector switch to the right mirror.

You can turn off gesture control in the settings menu in the iDrive. I don’t have a car in front of me to tell you the exact path, but you should be able to find it.
