SOS Error + no BlueTooth - Sound works but MOST loop didn't fix. Confused.

    Hey everyone!

Picked up a 2007 530i Sport model last week. Pretty nice car, nice options, enjoying tinkering on it so far. It's my first e60 but have owned tons early Bimmers in the past.

Only real issue is I have the SOS System Malfunction Error, and BlueTooth is unchecked and unable to activate. Sound in the car otherwise (CD, Radio) work fine and iDrive seems snappy.

Car has Nav, AUX, BT, CD but does not have CD Changer and no Satellite Radio (which seems to be the most common source of problems)

Doing as much reading (and videos) as I can most SOS problems come with no sound which is not my problem. I also read that if you cannot check the BT to activate it, your TCM is probably shot.

I assumed that with no BT (which is fine) I could just unplug the TCM, put a loop in the MOST fiber optic port, and that would eliminate the SOS error. Got the MOST loop and did just that, and the SOS error remains.

So I'm stumped. In the trunk, the only fiber ports are at the TCM, and there is an open port where it looks like the satellite radio harness is tied to the wiring. I tried putting the loop in that part of the harness and still had a problem.

Am I doing something wrong? What else could be causing the SOS error when I disconnect my TCM?

(BTW my TCM is the Motorola BMW Everest E60 US 98.40 9126534-01)

The bluetooth module is most likely the problem if you look under you spare tire in the trunk and move the foam or plastic thing at the very bottom you will see the bluetooth module. mine was moist. I pulled the fiber optic cables to the top of the trunk and put the loop in that wire from the bluetooth module and it fixed all my issues. Pm me if you have any questions!
P.S. when this happened to mine no sound would work in the car at all.
