Intermittent Window Rolling Up Issue
The other day I parked my 2003 M3 and then rolled down my passenger window halfway to talk to someone. When I went to roll it back up, nothing happened and it was seemingly "dead". It just wouldn't go back up. No grinding, no reaction, no nothing. It would go down though!
I figured "Oh great, another broken window regulator...in the middle of downtown San Francisco." (I think I've replaced all 4 in my wife's 328i and multiple regulators in my BMW's over the years...)
I ended up opening the door and trying to pull the window up while pressing the button, etc. No luck.
Out of some frustration I kinda slammed the passenger door, walked back to the drivers side to get in to the car and pressed the passenger window switch up one more time - voila! It went up like nothing happened.
So my question is: what the hell is going wrong with this window?
I'd love to fix it, but it seemingly "works" again now. I'm assuming it's not the regulator binding up or something because it sounds and functions fine when it did finally decide to go up. What else could be causing this type of issue?
Thanks for any advice.
