    Cool

My 98 sedan needs brakes. I would like some recommendations as to what brand for mostly street driving.

I had the same dilema the past few weeks. I just ordered all of my parts yesterday for my 98 Dakar Yellow M3. On the front I went with the Euro 2 piece floating rotors ($108 each from pacific bmw), performance friction z-rated pads ($57 from brake warehouse), front brake pad sensor ($10.26 from pacific bmw). On the rear I went with the stock rotors ($54 each from pacific bmw), performance friction z-rated pads ($57 from brake warehouse), rear brake pad sensor ($9.42 from pacific bmw). I went with Earl's stainless steel braided brake lines ($95.95 from www.bmpd.com), ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid ($10.95 x 2 from www.bmpd.com), and BMP's power bleeder ($44.95) for a grand total of $620.48 plus shipping and handling.

    Thanks

Thanks for the info... I am looking in to buying the parts and having a friend (mechanic) do the work.. I am just not in to repair work anymore (not since my 70 GTO). So I hope that he will do it for fairly cheap labor.. maybe a 12 pack or 2...

I don't know if you would want to go with those brake pads. It all depends on what you are looking for. I did alot of research before deciding to go with those. It all depends on how much brake dust, noise, and what you are primarily using them for to decide on a pad. I wanted a pad that performed better than stock and could be used on the street and for some beginner track sessions. I hope those do the trick, for me anyway.

Just got new breaks for driving school from a guy/mechanic/owner who put carbon metalics on my 95 for combo of track, xcross nad street. Fairly expense at 183 front/ 163 rears. Let you know how it works.
