I am looking into purchasing a front strut brace for my 540i and read through some archives on suitable options. The leader seemed to be Strongstrut, but last time I checked they closed their doors. I just stumbled upon this: https://strong-strut.com/ - Does anyone know anything about this?
If this is legit, I am hoping someone still has an original to send the new owner so it can be re-engineered!
Also, other than Racing Dynamics, does anyone have other recommendations?
Thanks!

You could make one, if you have a welder and an angle grinder it would be a fun project

These seemed expensive back when they were ~$200, now at $385-425 they're just overpriced, but good quality, based on the one I had - https://www.masonengineering.net/pro...php?bmw_id=e34
Several options here: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/BMW...w-strut-braces
And this: https://www.driftworks.com/ultra-rac...eries-e34.html
And this: https://www.strutbarworks.com/bmw-en/#bmw_e34
An M60 E34 with a trivial PS tank relocation mod can clear a strut bar straight across between the strut towers - no bend required - if the engine cover is left off. Considering that, I'd expect a custom-made one by a local fabricator to be cheaper and stronger than any of the ones mentioned. I'd use steel, not aluminum.

I had a StrongStrut for my E34 M5 and it was not a good fit because of the air plenum. When I talked to the company about it they said they did not have an M5 for test fitting purposes but did not believe this was critical!!! Hopefully the new owner will correct this lack of attention to detail.
That's correct. I spoke the the owner over the weekend who has not had a voluntary donor, but many inquiries. He said he has a friend with an E34 so if it came down to it, he could measure from scratch. That may be best as he could fix the ///M5 fitment issue up front.
I am hoping this works out as these were the best option and also not hinged.
