    Pads and Rotors

I am in need for a new set (front & back) pads and rotors. I do not track the car...spirited driver. Of course would like less brake dust, would like to maintain the factory feel. Any advice would be appreciated. First time replacing brakes on this car so all the guidance and things that I must also replace besides the pads and rotors....

    Thanks,

Ceramic pads dust less. Akebono is a popular choice, but they won’t have quite as much initial bite as stock. They should stop your car in about the same distance. Buy new break pad wear sensors as well. If you have not bled the brakes in a couple of years, do that as well. Best E9xM3 forum is in M3 Post dot com.

Why buy new sensors if there is nothing wrong with the old ones? I can see buying new sensors if you actually triggered them or they are damaged in some way; otherwise this is just throwing away some money.

If you have success reusing sensors that have been stuck in the pads for 40,000 miles, then sure, try reusing them. After 5 years of driving in rain and snow, I find they often break upon removal or fit the new pads very loosely and fall out. New ones don’t cost much. You can also skip the sensors and just cut the terminal off and connect the wires together.
