Hi all
I am new to the forum and this is my very 1st post so please don't be harsh
I have a BMW E39 535i year 2000 M62TU and my problem is when I turn the ignition ON and when car is running I can't turn off the lights.
I can't turn indicators, hazard lights, full beam and flash.
Some of the related faults are:
FAULTS:
S 0048 No communication possible with: Light module
S 0035 No communication possible with: Headlight beam throw adjustment
000094 GM: LED for anti-theft alarm system, open circuit
0000BE IKE: Fault entry via internal fault in light module
I need to add that the car has been sitting for over a year with battery disconnected and the problem wasn't there the last time it was driven.
Hope I can get some help from the BMW experts in this forum.
Ignition switch?
No communication with light module. That sounds like a problem to me.

Hi and thanks for your reply. I am thinking it might be something to do with the light module. I will check power and ground and fuses then look into module itself. Not sure if these can be reset if faulty?
Did you make any progress?
I have the same model, 535i (1999 though) with the same fault code (S0035) although I don’t have the other codes you have and the lights switch off fine. Can’t see anything obvious in the wiring or connections.

Moved to the model specific discussion area.
Shogun tricks and tips for the E32 series are HERE!
Internal fault in ike due to LCM and no LCM connection possible seems to point out to a crude attempt of kilometrage rollback.
Now, OP, you say you parked the car and it hasn't seen use in a year and the issue wasn't present, it could very well be that the LCM gave up the ghost. Does your IKE (instruments cluster) shows a tiny dot on the left side of the total odometer reading? When you say it wasn't there (the fault) do you mean the impossibility to turn off lights and other indicators? Or have you scanned it before and it said no errors and now this?
If the mileage / km tamper odometer dot is on, it's likely due to someone installing used LCM without coding it.
I've replaced mine on 540 many moons ago and dot apperared on my dash.
New or used, it has to be coded to avoid that dot.

Ye cats! Another zombie thread! :-D
These symptoms definitely point to a bad LKM. Mine were random "halo turning on all by itself" and turn signals failing to turn off. Reason was water intrusion due to PO's sh*tty installation of crappy cheap-o windshield which leaked.
