‘79 733i Idle Control Valve

Hey all - Im new here and new to BMWs in general. I’ve recently gotten a 1979 733i and I’ve surmised that my ICV is suspect. High idle until it warms up.

I can’t seem to find the actual part though. Can anyone assist me either with the best US vendor, or perhaps a second hand source?

Also, is the 79 ICV the same as later cars?

Be careful though. I remember back in my E23 days (1983 733I) my mechanic thought I needed an Idle control valve but it turned out to be the Idle control Unit. I don't think my E32 is set up that way although it is an M30. I would get it diagnosed before spending on one part or the other. On the E32 board we were discussing poor M30 idles. I've owned my E32 for almost 31 years and it has never been a problem for me. I made this video a few days ago to post. Was my cold start to check idle. I wish you luck with this problem, Other than leaking sunroof my only problem with my E23 that I owned from 1983 until 1990 when I bought this car was the idle. It was a great car. I sort of wish I never sold it.
