I have a Bmw 528i N52 and it keeps stalling when I come to a stop and it is throwing a P0015 code camshaft timing retarded with rough idle.
I replaced camshaft position sensor and soleinoids! I don't know where else to start.
I also have a burble tune could this be the culprit? ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED! THANKS!
A lot of times the fault code is not the problem but the place to start the diagnostics so some body needs to diagnose the problem
I also have a 2008 BMW 528i with this same issue. I haven't replaced the Vanos solenoids or the eccentric shaft sensor yet but considering doing those next. I noticed that the problem only occurs when the engine is warm and can sometimes be avoided by turning off the HVAC.
Did you use an OEM camshaft position sensor and OEM solenoids? I'm thinking this is more of a VANOS solenoid issue more than anything.
Assuming the basics are OK (clean the vanos solenoids and solenoid screens) and check for vacuum leaks - have you just tried increase the idle a bit? I have a great running N52 3.0i that seemed to have VERY intermittent miss at idle. Vacuum was good, solenoids replaced. I plugged in my LAUNCH, and increased the idle by 50 RPM across the range. Problem solved.
