    BMW 2011-328xi

    2011 bmw 328i vibrates when accelerating.
    The vibration has nothing to do with tires no being balanced nor misfire in the engine; it happens only when I step on the gas pedal between 20-60 miles, and it feels that it’s coming from the drivetrain; the vehicle has less than 50,000 miles.

    Could be a failing guibo (drive shaft flex disc), bad center support bearing, failing front differential, or failing transfer case. You'll need to get the car on a lift, fully shut down the traction control, and have a pro watch and listen for the shaking part.

    2011 328i xdrive 4dr - Diagnostic

    Some background info

    Live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
    Recently purchased this vehicle from a dealership
    Has 48000km on it

    After purchasing the vehicle I have done basic maintenance of oil, cabin and air filters.

    Alsoswapped out coils and plugs with Delphi GN10572 ignition coils and Bosch BSDR7NPP332 spark plugs.

    Now when I got the vehicle, check engline light was on for codes P0171 and P0174. Since doing the maintenance got those codes cleared and has not shown since.

    My issue now is on cold start the car shakes for 3-5 seconds and bounces revs from sub 1000.

    I’ve cleaned the MAF. Thinking I may clean/swap the vanos solenoids next.

    Any recommendations on what the issue could be?

    Cleaning the MAF never accomplishes anything unless its visibly soiled in a heavy way... but then you've got other problems. Cleaning the MAF does not restore a MAF to new.

    Lean codes are pretty much specific to a vacuum leak, a dying MAF, or fuel issues.
    You will need better diagnostics (with something that reads BMW manufacturer codes not P codes), a pressurized smoke test of the intake tract, fuel pressure logging, and live logging of some of the sensors.

    You have a vacuum leak, as the P0171 and P0174 shows. It also shows up at cold start with a misfire codes and the engine shaking like it is.
