hello everybody
Im marvin and i drive a 1991 e36 sedan 320i.
I love the car but it has problems with the m50b20 engine.
So the problems i have is that its not picking up power as how i expected it from the 6 in line engine my friend has a e36 sedan 318i and he pulls away faster than me.
Also few days ago changed the spark plug and it didnt like the super4 from bosch, ive putted the old ones back in to see if theres any diffrence but no, when im on the throttle til 2k rpm its fine over that its starts to kinda sputter and the rpm sounds weird when im at 4200 rpm it looks like the car is cutting fuel while i should be abble to rev to 6500 rpm.
If someone can give me a helping hand i would appreciate it dearly,
Thinks to check
Vacuum leaks.
Fuel pressure and injectors
Ignition coils.
Crank sensor
Ive checked on vacuum leaks with brake cleaner i have changed the coil packs around, but the issue happend when ive putted platinum spark plugs in than it ran crap when throttle than ive putted tho old ones back in than it ran good again the tried the platinum once more after ive changed the o2 sensor which was broken and ran crap still but than ive putted the super4 in an ran crap and now with the old old sparkplugs still runs crap. Fuel en injectors are working properly. Crank sensor should work properly cuz i didnt touched it, also could be coincidence that it broke while changing sparkplugs.
I will check these points just to cross them from the list, thanks for responding 👍
Do the Euro cars have a “CE” light in the cluster?
Is yours illuminated?
Have you pulled the error codes from the engine control unit?
‘Stomp Test’
The 2.0L engine was originally fit with NGK BKR 6 EK spark plugs.
There are 167 alternative spark plugs

Put a new set of ignition coils.
